At Elk River Kennels the grounds are groomed for bird dog training with a variety of upland cover and ponds. All with one purpose in mind, to train your dog to be its best.

Elk River kennels offers professional training for upland hunting and waterfowling dogs. We train retrieving, flushing and the pointing breeds. The training your dog receives is based upon your dogs personality, it is individualized to meet you and your dogs specific needs.

We require a $100 non-refundable deposit to reserve a training spot for your dog, and $175 when you check your dog in for training. The balance needs to be paid when you check your dog out of training. There is an additional charge for live birds used exclusively for your dog. See the training page for pricing information.

Boarding is available for most breeds of dogs. Our facility has large indoor heated and air conditioned kennels, to keep your pet comfortable. We also have a large fenced exercise yard that allows your pet plenty of opportunity to run and play getting the exercise they require during their stay with us. Long and short term boarding is available.

Boarding rates are per calendar day.

Shots must be up to date and include a vaccination for BORDETELLA. Please bring an up-to-date shot record with you when you drop your pet off. Pets that don�t have an up to date shot record will not be allowed to stay with us.

The Facilities
Elk River Kennels is located about 40 miles Northwest of downtown Minneapolis in Elk River, MN. We have 40 acres of groomed training grounds with 5 training ponds, and variety of upland cover for upland training. The ponds were built with dog training in mind and offer a variety of technical training aspects from teaching swim-by to repeated land and water entries.
